Customer & Invoicing

Billing policy

All clients are charged in accordance with the prevailing practice in strict compliance with the Rules of the Paris Bar. The services provided are per tenth of an hour, including supporting evidence of the expenses incurred, in a monthly time report (see attachment). Although all services are charged on an agreed upon hourly basis, billing differences are made between private individuals and companies in order to minimize the VAT impact (when applicable). In addition, and on a case by case basis, depending upon the complexity and duration of the assistance required, a retainer under the form of a deposit may be required, the amount of which being agreed upon accordingly. Billing (see attachment) occurs at the end of each monthly period and/or when the amount of the legal fees and expenses reaches the amount of the retainer. Payment of the billed legal fees and expenses are expected to be made upon receipt and late payment may be subject to an interest as per the law dated December 31st, 1992. Although a pure contingency fee based upon the result obtained are prohibited and not favoured by the firm, the Paris Bar recommends that a mutually agreed fee agreement be entered when deemed appropriate to the nature of the case (see attachment). Finally client and the firm may convene of a lump sum fee when adapted in a similar manor to that of recurrent files. Legal fees as freely negotiated are always without tax and expenses.
